Most recently, one project that was built with 12 shipping containers among the greens of the Waikato region, New Zealand has garnered a lot of attention on Facebook, Bored Panda first reported.

The house is an ode to the industrial style and is bound to turn a lot of heads with its unusual Modernist exterior and surprisingly spacious interiors. The residence has a main house, a small cottage, a garage, and a pool. It was built using 12 shipping containers.

The room has six bedrooms, three toilets, and three bathrooms. The black industrial look of the building is in complete harmony with the blue pool and green scenery on the outside.

The house listing on Trade Me states, "Designed with an industrial scale and theme, the open plan living areas feature a high atrium that houses a significant and prominent staircase interlinking the second-storied living spaces.

"Natural light is prevalent throughout the dwelling that features individual living zones, up to six bedrooms, three toilets, three bathrooms, and polished concrete floors to complete the industrial theme."

While the exact figure for the project wasn't disclosed, Bored Panda reports that a shipping container could set you back somewhere from $3,000 to $10,000.

The price of a large house built with shipping containers can range from $150,000 to $175,000, "which is about half the price per square foot of a conventional home", per 360MobileOffice.
